Costa Mesa - Fairview Park/Talbert Nature
Preserve
Fairview
Park (www.cmfairviewpark.org)
is located in
Costa Mesa at
2525 Placentia Avenue.
It is situated right beside the Talbert Nature Preserve. Both
locations offer mostly flat dirt trails running along different loops and
take advantage of the cool coastal weather. Water and bathrooms are
available both at the beginning and the middle of the trail. This park
allows you to run 5 to 6 miles through the different loops without having to
back-track but you can also run much shorter loops as well. |

Lancaster - Fairview Bluff Trail (aka Poppy Fields)
Located in
Lancaster,
California, this is desert
running at its best. The trail is an out-and-back run of at least 5 miles
on dirt roads. Actual distance and trailhead are determined based on
wishes of our participants. Trail is fairly flat, however there are some
hills and challenges. This trail is suitable for any type of dog powered
vehicle. It is a rural trail with no water or restrooms on route. We usually
run the cart, so additional water is available if those running
scooters can not carry enough for the whole run. For directions and
additional information please email Nichole Royer at

Lake Elsinore Berm
The Lake Elsinore Berm runs alongside
Lake Elsinore and is a dirt trail that is approximately 25 feet wide. Great
for scootering, bikejoring or carting. Porta pottys are located along the
trail and you can opt to bring water but you can likewise walk down to the
lake to water the dogs. This is an out-and-back route of at least a 3-mile
roundtrip but could do a longer one depending on the weather and the dogs.
Parking at the Lake Elsinore Storm Stadium. To get there, take the 15
Freeway, exit Railroad Canyon/ Diamond Drive and head west to Diamond
Circle, make a right (stadium just ahead) and park at the end of the street
and the berm is located to the south. This would a convenient location for
those coming from the Riverside, San Diego, Inland Empire and South Orange
counties. |
