My bio: Dee spent the first 8 years of her life as the lead dog
on a competitive sled dog team in New York. As she got older and her
team mates got faster, Dee found herself left on the sidelines more and
more. Her owner made the hard decision to find his best leader a home where
she would get to spend more time doing what she loves. Dee came out to
California to "retire" and in that time has shared her knowledge and wisdom
not just with my other dogs but with me. It is thanks to her training that
Kwest is the wonderful lead dog that he is. Though she's getting up there in
years, Dee has never lost her joy in running and is a true testament to the
positive results of dogs being active throughout their lives. Dee is still
running with the team, and if it's not as fast or as far, it's still
with as much enthusiasm as ever. |
